Trail Conditions: The trail to Pond View Lodge is a moderate hike from the parking lot over sloped terrain with lots of tree roots. Do not try to pull a garden cart up Pond Trail.
Directions: Take Belden’s Way to Pond Trail. → At the end of Pond Trail, take a left on Gen. John Nixon Trail. → PondView Lodge is a few hundred yards up the trail on your right, just before the intersection with Thirty Rod Trail.
Tenting: Fantastic, ample tenting for 40+ scouts all around the cabin.
Modern Amenities:
Electric lights
No water
No indoor plumbing
Nearby Resources: Lodge is very convenient to both latrines and water. Nearest latrine is at the corner of the site. Nearest water pump is a very short walk at Legion Lodge.
Character: A large and comfortable lodge with electric lights and excellent tenting. It's one of the closest locations to the parking lot. Right off the porch is Nupp’se Pond, a shallow, mucky kettle pond, containing water for part of the year. Latrines and water are very close.
Best For: Groups who prefer a very nicely appointed cabin, with electric lights, great tenting, and are close to latrines and water, that is less remote.
Feel: A large and comfortable lodge with electric lights and excellent tenting. The location is one of the closest to the parking lot and offers a great view of Nupp’se Pond.
