Distance: A short 0.37-mile carry in/carry out hike from the parking lot.
Trail Conditions: The trail is a short walk from the parking lot over slightly sloped terrain, making it easy to pull a cart.
Directions: Take Belden’s Way to Pond Trail. → Take a right on Gen. John Nixon Trail. → Pass Big Rock. → Canopache is in the woods on the right.
Tenting: The flat, open area can accommodate 25-35 scouts in tents. The adjacent Big Rock site can add an additional 50-75 scouts for a total of about 100.
Water/Latrines: Convenient. The nearest latrine is at PondView or Webelos Woods. The nearest water pump is at Owl Trail.
Character: Offers a fantastic lean-to and tenting experience at a modest distance from the parking lot, providing a wilderness feel while still being very accessible.
