Distance: A remote 0.4-mile carry in/carry out hike from the parking lot.
Trail Conditions: A long, mostly steeply-sloped, difficult path with some very steep sections. Do not try to pull a cart.
Directions: Take EllisLand Trail to Fire Trail. → Tantamous is a modest hike up Fire Trail in the woods on the left.
Tenting: A flat area immediately surrounding the lean-tos can accommodate a small group of 8+ scouts.
Water/Latrines: A walk of about 1/8 mile through the woods. The nearest latrine is on the south leg of Jethro Trail, and the nearest water pump is on the north leg of Jethro Trail.
Character: Provides a remote wilderness experience with limited room for nearby tenting.
Best For: Experienced backpackers who want a truly remote and challenging experience.
